Offering scholarships to Protected Persons and Landed Immigrants who were Protected Persons to attend university or community college in Toronto.

Maytree offers a scholarship program for protected persons or landed immigrants who were protected persons, between the ages 18 and 27, entering first or second year of a university or community college in Toronto. It is designed for students with a sense of civic responsibility combined with a successful academic, work and/or volunteer service record.

Students must be living on their own with no parents in Canada.

The Maytree Scholarship Program is an intensive, participatory program which provides peer and financial support. The Scholarship Program covers tuition, books, transportation, rent and a living allowance, and it includes monthly meetings for a maximum of ten students. The group engages in voluntary work throughout the school year, which helps further develop a sense of civic engagement and responsibility.

You can download the application form here. Please read the guidelines carefully before filling out the application form.

Deadline for applications: Friday, March 26, 2010 by 5:00 p.m.

Late applications will not be accepted.

Important: Maytree does not participate in the admission decisions of post-secondary institutions. Candidates are required to apply independently for admission to a university or community college.

Please note that The Maytree Awards Program which provided a one-time financial award will not be offered in 2010.

If you have any further questions about the program, please email scholarships@maytree.com.
